Community Support

In 2010, El Guabo renewed its commitment to social development by continuing to fund education and healthcare initiatives in the community. Fair Trade premiums fund health insurance programs and promote local access to medical services, benefiting El Guabo's active and retired members, their families and the community. El Guabo continues to use Fair Trade premiums to support 16 rural schools in the area. Educational support from El Guabo covers at least one teacher’s salary per school, and promotes the incorporation of local realities into school curricula.
