Morning has come hot and sunny here in the Dominican Republic. Nonetheless, we're tucking ourselves into the hotel conference room for a Fair Trade 101 presentation with Ben & Jerry's and the "Do the World a Flavor" contest finalists. I just got off a red eye from San Francisco to the Dominican Republic. Many people think of the DR as the hot vacation destination of this season, but you might not know that it's also the location of one of the best known Fair Trade cocoa coops--Conacado.
