Fair Trade Improves Lives with Safe Drinking Water
According to the UN, 2.5 billion people, including almost one billion children, do not have access to basic sanitation. Every 20 seconds, a child dies as a result of poor sanitation, adding up to 1.5 million preventable deaths each year. Although clean water is a luxury for many living in poverty, Fair Trade is a powerful way to change this story.

Fair Trade Coffee Cooperatives in Peru and Colombia Receive Funding to Address Key Challenges in Quality and Productivity
We have the great pleasure of sharing with you the first two winners of our new Cooperative Small Grants Program, which offers Fair Trade Certified™ coffee cooperatives access to funding for specific capacity-building projects. The winners, APROCASSI from Peru and ASOPROKAN from Colombia, were awarded a combined $40,428 to improve crop productivity and quality management.
