In honor of October’s Fair Trade Month, BJ’s Wholesale Club announces today the expansion of its Fair Trade Certified™ selection to include 11 ground and whole bean coffee varieties from its own brand Wellsley Farms™. “From the lush mountains of Indonesia to the highlands of Guatemala, we travel the world to deliver Fair Trade Certified™ coffee to our Members while ensuring farmers receive fair-minded prices for their harvests,” said Melissa O’Brien, coffee buyer for BJ’s Wholesale Club.

First Ever Fair Trade Certified™ Seafood and New Home Goods Items Hit Retail Shelves

Oakland, CA. (October 1, 2015) – To kick off Fair Trade Month, Fair Trade USA, the leading third-party certifier of Fair Trade products in North America, announces the expansion of Fair Trade Certified™ products across several categories, including home goods and apparel, and the launch of a new category: seafood. In 2015, Fair Trade USA partnered with 74 new companies (for a total of 1019), and helped launch hundreds of new Fair Trade Certified products into the North American market.

Clinton Global Initiative Commitment aims to expand Fair Trade from Farm to Factory

New York, NY, September 30, 2015 –  Fair Trade USA announced this week at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting its commitment to improve working conditions and enable sustainable livelihoods for factory workers, “Fair Trade Farm To Factory: An Ethical Sourcing Model.” Over the next two years, Fair Trade USA will certify 35 new factories, working with 30 new brand partners to improve the lives of 40,000 factory workers, globally.
