Maximum Sunshine Calls For Maximum Deliciousness

Spring is a time of transformation and rejuvenation. Flowers bloom, the sun returns and our favorite café patios are starting to open up again. As we begin to come out of hibernation it's important to remember self-care. That's why we've selected five of our favorite Fair Trade Certified™ items that will help you step into spring with your best foot forward. They nouish us, they indulge us, they excite our taste buds, AND they help take care of people and planet.  Enjoy!

Rethinking the way we shop this Farmworker Awareness Week

Fruits and vegetables are an essential part of our daily diet. They provide us with nutrients, reduce our risk of certain diseases, and they taste delicious!  Because fruits and veggies are such a staple, it's easy to forget that behind each tomato, pineapple and grape is a person, a farmer or worker with a family and community. It's a connection we must strive to remember, because without these people it would be pretty hard for the world to eat.

A Farmer, a Brand and a Shopper Tell Their Stories

Elvia Almachi is 32 years old, has two daughters, and works on a rose farm near one of the world’s tallest volcanos in Ecuador. She has never met Deborah Holt, Chief Marketing Officer of Marich Confectionery in Hollister, California, or Kylie Nealis, a grassroots organizer with Fair Trade Campaigns in Oakland, California.  Elvia, Deborah and Kylie may be strangers, but they all have at least one thing in common: they each play an integral role in bringing Fair Trade to life.
