Here's a Fair Trade Certified product that's both good for you and good for the world:

Numi Organic Tea's Fair Trade Certified Jasmine Green Tea - Monkey King was recently listed in Prevention’s 21 Healthiest Packaged Foods of 2011. Prevention, a magazine that seeks out the best ways to promote happier, healthier, and stronger lives, celebrated Numi's Green Tea for it's powerful combination of antioxidants and great flavor.

The Player

Numi’s Jasmine Green Tea- Monkey King was recognized for its flavor which jazzes up a healthy green tea, which might otherwise have a boring flavor. Green Tea is known for being packed full of antioxidants that increase immunity as well as lower bad cholesterol, boost metabolism, and reduce the risk of chronic disease.

The Flavor

This green tea features a floral accent that comes from the jasmine flowers and leaves from the Hunan Province. Jasmine adds sweetness to the tea which Prevention described as, “not overpowering-smooth and soothing,” and it is a flavor many tea sippers find to be a welcoming take on green tea. The blend of flavors is no mere coincidence and is the work of the alchemist and master mixologist Ahmend , the brother of Reem and co-founder of the brother and sister founded company.

The Inspiration

Ahmen and Reem are dedicated to the quality and sustainability of their teas. They both have travelled the world and have been inspired by the people and the cultures they came in contact with, finding a true calling to look for new ways to appreciate communities and their environments. Adding to its delicious sense of flavor, this tea is enhanced by their Fair Trade Practices and the feeling that doing something good does for the soul.

Try It

Prevention recommends trying this tea as a healthy alternative to coffee.  It can also be blended into a delicious blueberry and green tea smoothie.  Numi Tea is available in stores throughout the country, and it can also be purchased online.  Have to tried this tea?  We'd love to know what you think!
