Fair Trade Brunch

Fair Trade USA would like to cordially invite you and yours to Wake Up the World Brunch on Saturday, May 14th at 10am in San Francisco. Dine with us at the Hub SoMa and celebrate World Fair Trade Day in style. We are looking forward to working with the up-and-coming Stag Dining Group, whose members have incorporated Fair Trade ingredients into their menu in an impressive way.

The Wake Up the World Brunch will consist of a variety of delicious Fair Trade and local ingredients. The brunch menu features Alter Eco’s Fair Trade Certified quinoa from the Anapqui Association in the Bolivian Highlands.  This group of more than 1,000 indigenous families focuses on producing high-quality organic quinoa to improve the living conditions of its member and sustain the environment.  The added income from Fair Trade has given the Anapqui farmers better access to healthcare and education, and nearly 3,000 new jobs have been created to support the growing quinoa industry in the region.

Stag Dining Group

Headed by chefs Ted Fleury and Jordan Grosser, former co-executive chefs at The Alembic restaurant in San Francisco, the Stag Dining Group consists of chefs, hunters, musicians, artists, cyclists and conservationists, and aims to provide a sophisticated dining experience incorporating a passion for creativity, sustainability, eclecticism and joie de vivre.  True to its name, the group will create a dining environment where men and women can join as “stags” or “stagettes”.  Couples and groups will also be in attendance to forge new friendships and share a communal passion for food.

In addition to providing a unique and memorable culinary experience, Stag Dining Group is dedicated to making sustainable decisions for the venue, decor and food chosen for the clandestine dinners. Sourcing that emphasizes the beauty and bounty of the Bay Area is just one step taken to ensure there is a smaller footprint than a traditional brick & mortar restaurant. Stag Dining Group supports a growing network of local organic farmers that are utilizing best practices that benefit their products and the planet, and Fair Trade Certified ingredients are used when products can't be sourced locally. Each eventl is zero-waste/landfill free.
